Fall 2022 Team


Alexis Delia is originally from Washington D.C, and is majoring in Communication Studies, and double minoring in Entrepreneurship and Nonprofit Management. Her experience as Director of Community Engagement at UNCW gave her a passion for organizational leadership, volunteering, and her community. In her time at UNCW, she has served as the VP of Community Service for RHA, Co-Chair of the Seahawk Leadership Advisory Council, as well as a member of the 7 Seas Leadership Cohort. After graduation this Fall, Alexis plans to pursue a career in strategic marketing and continue searching for ways to serve her community. In her free time, you can find Alexis exploring new coffee shops, artisan markets, or planning her next trip!

Julie D’Amanda is originally from Rochester, NY, and moved to Charlotte with her family 5 years ago, though she considers Wilmington her home. In May of 2023, she will be graduating with her degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in IMC, and a minor in French. At her time at UNCW she has served as Marketing Assistant, Marketing Coordinator, and Activities Chair for the Association for Campus Entertainment. Currently she is an International Student Mentor, and spends most of her time involved in Port City Community Church’s college ministry called Overflow. Julie will continue to pursue a career in advertising and marketing post grad, hopefully for a Fashion or Beauty company. When Julie is not at school or church you can find her shopping for clothes, or trying out a new restaurant.

Kayla P. Bruce is a senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a concentration in Integrated Marketing Communication. Kayla sets herself apart with an eye for design, organization, and unparalleled customer service skills that help companies maximize and diversify their social reach. Kayla works to provide ambitious brands with comprehensive solutions that leverage the power of integrated marketing communication and technology to ensure business growth.
In addition to being a student, Kayla is also a wife and a mother of two. She holds the VP of Ways and Means board position at her children’s school, where she executes and oversees community fundraising and student and faculty events. After graduation in the Spring, Kayla hopes to pursue a career in corporate event planning and design. Kayla calls Wilmington, NC, her home, and she enjoys date nights with her husband and driving on the South End of Kure Beach with her family.

Gable Knight is a junior from Wilmington, NC majoring in Communication Studies and minoring in Leadership Studies. Outside of the classroom, Gable works as an intern at Live Oak Bank on the Construction Loan team as well as interning as the head of marketing and communications for Christ Community Church in Wilmington. Gable is the Vice President of the Reformed University Fellowship on UNCW’s campus. Gable loves watching and playing all sports and spending quality time with those close to him.

Caleb Olsen was born and raised in Wilmington, NC, and is majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Digital Arts. He has experience in web design, won awards for graphic design, and his art can be found hanging up in the VeggieWagon Mansonboro. After graduating Caleb hopes to pursue a career in concept art, graphic design or animation. When not working at one of his part time jobs, or participating in club activities Caleb can be found playing video games,Dungeons and Dragons, hiking, building models or skating.

Elizabeth Coffey is a senior at UNCW majoring in Communication and minoring in Nonprofit Management & Leadership. Elizabeth has experience working with various nonprofits within the Wilmington area and hopes to find a graphic design or marketing job after graduation. Elizabeth is involved with several on campus activities such as UNCW Club Lacrosse, the Communication Studies Society, and the honors society for her major, Lambda Pi Eta. Elizabeth works part time at a local kennel, and enjoys outdoor activities like surfing and hiking.


OUR ADVISORS

Jeanne M. Persuit (Ph.D., Duquesne University, 2009) teaches courses in integrated marketing communication (IMC), public relations, advertising, rhetorical theory, and communication ethics at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Before returning to Duquesne University for her Ph.D., Dr. Persuit worked in IMC in the consulting engineering field and was a marketing communications manager for a Fortune 500 manufacturing company. While a doctoral student at Duquesne, Dr. Persuit helped pilot the IMC Commission - a group of undergraduate and graduate students who worked on projects for clients on- and off-campus - and she wanted to work with Dr. Bolduc on a similar project at UNCW.

Kora Kelly is a graduate student from High Point, North Carolina receiving her master's degree in Integrated Marketing Communication. Kora received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Marketing Communication from the University of Mississippi with a minor in Business Administration and a specialization in Public Relations. She works as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Communication Studies department. She enjoys spending time with her dog Piper and being near the water whenever she can.

Kati E. Sudnick, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies. Dr. Sudnick teaches courses in integrated marketing communications at the BA and MA level. Her research interests are at the intersections of media ecology, integrated marketing communication, and communication ethics. Her current interests involve the philosophy of communication of social media influencer marketing as well as the utilization of popular culture artifacts as a hermeneutic lens for understanding communication ethics. Dr. Sudnick has experience in sports media and marketing relations, working with both the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the Pittsburgh Penguins, as well as professional graphic design, event planning, and public relations experience within the higher education landscape. She currently serves as an editorial assistant for the Journal of Communication and Religion. In her spare time, Dr. Sudnick enjoys singing, playing guitar, reading fiction, and hanging with her two dachshunds, Lucy and Cordelia.
